Abstract

New high-tensile steel for drive pipes; 20KhG2B chromium-manganese-boron steel containing 0.02 to 0.6% Cb, developed at UkrNIIM, has good weldability and high strength properties; drive pipes made of this steel can be welded electrically to columns of pipes at very top of well; batch of 168×12 mm pipes were successfully tested in oil wells; after hot rolling, pipes are tempered at 610 to 620 C.
