Strain-hardening characteristics of four new steels and titanium alloy
Strain-hardening behavior is described of two maraging steels, 9Ni-4Co steel, HY 130-150 steel, and Ti-7Al-2. 5Mo alloy; conventional strain-hardening exponent was calculated from successive small segments of true stress-strain curves in region between onset of yield and maximum load; this method was employed because stress-strain relation does not fit any simple analytical expression; strain hardening or softening may be described by direction in which exponent changes.
