Impregnated concrete piles for use in seawater
Asphalt impregnated reinforced concrete piling was used for fishing wharf at port of Los Angeles; after piles were dehydrated they were placed in steel cylinders under vacuum of 28 in.; asphalt was admitted into cylinder at 250 F; then, air pressure at 150 to 175 psi was maintained for from 12 to 14 hr.
