Using W. KLOTH's table of weights of light weight steel girders as basis, it is shown by comparison that weight of structure can be reduced 95.4% if Al-Cu-Mg material is substituted for steel; numerous examples of light weight steel and light metal construction illustrated and described, to demonstrate weight saving superiority of light metals.
