Design and construction of dams in areas where ground is permanently frozen; effect of storage reservoir and earth fill on permafrost; requirements to be fulfilled by dam on permafrost; means by which low temperatures within dam body can be insured; spillway problem in connection with permafrost in case of timber, earthfill, low head reservoirs and high head earthfill dams; subsidence under water storage dam can be reduced by consolidating ground previous to construction or by maintenance of permanently frozen state; data on construction methods applicable to various types of dams.
