Arvida, Que., to have world's first aluminum highway bridge
Bridge will weigh only 400,000 lb as compared with 800,000 lb for steel bridge of same dimensions; roadway width will be 24 ft between curbs and there will be 4-ft sidewalk on either side of roadway; bridge will be constructed of Alcan 26-ST alloy aluminum.
