Proportion cylindrical reinforced concrete tanks for minimum steel content
Conventional and prestressed designs were investigated in 0.2 mg increments to 1.0 mg, then in 1.0 mg increments to 6.0 mg; for each of these capacities, concrete and steel quantities were determined for heights up to 52.5 ft in increments to 7.5 ft; prestressed design requires 78% as much concrete for smallest capacity as conventional design, and 63.5% as much for largest capacity; cost comparison.
