Concrete piles and their protection in harbor construction
Tests carried out at Treat Island in Cobscook Bay, Me, indicate that concrete containing air entraining agent is much more durable than that without it; air entrainment has little effect on attack by sulphates; method of encasing wooden piles damaged by marine organisms with concrete is described. Reprinted from Proceedings. Wrightsville Beach Marine Conference, June 1950.
