Resistance of floor coverings to grease, oils and selected reagents
National Bureau of Standards tested 40 coverings by measuring depth of scratch caused by "mechanical fingernail" after exposure of material to reagent for 24 hr; vinyl plastics proved virtually best for use in locations frequently exposed to grease, oil; and alkalies; asphalt good on concrete floor subject to damp conditions.
