Deadweight trailer for testing road bridges
Trailer adapted by Ministry of Transport to enable strength of existing masonry arch bridges to be tested; equipment built entirely from second hand and scrap material; transverse sill beam carries end of massive load slab; it is possible to move slab to and fro in relation to trailer; it weighs 50 tons, while trailer and fittings weigh 35 tons.
