Bending tests of large welded-steel box girders at different temperatures
Tests were made at temperatures of -40, 0, 40, and 80 F; tensile tests of material at these temperatures showed that steel was as ductile at lowest as at highest temperature; due to constraint induced in girders by welding, square types of fracture occurred in girders tested at -40 and at 0 F but did not occur in girders tested at 40 and at 80 F. (RP1934)
