Treatment of sewage has been complicated by waste from large starch works which has increased human population of about 50,000 to total equivalent population of 300,000, more or less, during periods, of heavy corn grinding at starch works; peculiar character of sewage has required operation of two testing stations prior to design of sewage-treatment works; record of steps taken and works built in connection with this project are described.
