New concrete block pavement laid on Albany Post Road, New York
Experimental stretch of 350 ft, between Ossining and Scarborough using new block called "Ultimite" invented by L. F. HEWETT and made by placing, by hand, face downward in form, fragments of granite or other approved stone, about 2 1/2 in. in depth; interstices then filled with grout and remainder of form, to required depth, whether 4 or 5 in., is filled with compressed concrete.
