Tests show color affects surface temperature of concrete dam
Tests made at Florence Lake dam of Southern California Edison Co. show that temperature of concrete surface coated with aluminum paint may be as much as 40 deg. lower than similar surface coated with black water-proofing; temperature of concrete mass may be from 10 to 50 deg. higher than surrounding air.
