Effect of the addition of silica gel to Portland cement mortars on their resistance to sulphate action
Effect of substituting silica gel for portion of portland cement in standard and graded-sand mortars on expansion and loss in strength of mortars in sulphate solutions was determined; portland cement silica gel sand mortars were cured in steam at 100 deg. Cent. and effect on their sulphate resistance measured; behavior of lime-silica gel sand mortar in solutions of sodium and magnesium sulphate was also studied.
