Novel sinking equipment for steel cylinder foundations
Sinking 56 cylinders 16 ft. in diameter and two cylinders 30 ft. in diameter for piers of two long highway bridges over two arms of St. Andrews Bay on Florida Gulf Coast; cylinders were sunk in deep water by riveting sections on top and lowering with gallows frame; piles driven 50 ft. under water; seal concrete placed with 100 ft. tremie.
