Theory of design of high earth-fill dams; materials used and methods adopted to insure safety and economical construction; Silvan Dam has max. height from core wall foundation to crest equal to 226 ft.; list of earth and rock-fill dams of 100 ft. or greater height; cost will probably not exceed 700,000 pounds sterling.
