Behavior of reinforcing steel under reversed loading
Influence of plastic strain at first stress reversal (called " initial plastic strain"), number of cycles of prior loading, and elapsed time between cycles is quantitatively considered, with reference to reinforcement of concrete of members; 24 specimens machined from bars of commercial hard grade reinforcing steel; effects of different variables were determined from stress-strain curves; analytical formulation for reversed stress-strain curves is discussed for use in inelastic analysis of doubly reinforced concrete beams under reversed loading.
