Ultimate-load analysis of edge-loaded rectangular slab resting on soil
Application is described of yield-line theory of K.W.Johansen to determination of ultimate load-carrying capacity of rectangular slab subjected to uniformly-distributed loading along edges, as may occur in base slab of empty water tank; soil-pressure distribution is defined in general manner so as to permit any variation from purely cohesive to purely cohesionless soils to be considered.
