Off-form concrete related to fremantle bulk grain terminal building
Terminal designed for capacity of 4 million bushels of grain consists of 48 main circular cells, each 36 ft in diam and 102 ft high, arranged in nest of 12×4, with 30 interspace bins between main bins; cell block, which contains all off-form concrete, was constructed on in-situ piles upon which concrete pile cap was placed; columns 15 ft high in various shapes were positioned to underside of entablature beam, circular beam, supporting bin walls; bin bottoms were poured inside this beam and moving forms set up on top of entablature some 18 ft above ground floor level; materials used for concrete formwork; value of correct concrete placing is emphasized.
