Seafield coal mine will produce 5000 tpd of coal from deposits under Firth of Forth, Scotland; two 24-ft diam lined shafts were sunk to depths of 2100 ft; since completion of pit bottom, three horizon openings supported by 17×12 ft arch girders at 3 ft centers, have been driven five miles; faces on both levels stand more than two miles under Firth of Forth; heavily watersaturated sandstones were successfully passed through with good results by using low viscosity chemical grout called Cemex-A.
