Cement works in Tunisia
There are two cement works in Tunisia; larger is at Djebel-Djelloud, near Tunis, and other is at Bizerta; at Djebel-Djelloud there are three rotary kilns having capacity of 330,000 metric tons per year; principal product is ordinary portland cement which is made by wet process; dry process plant at Bizerta produces 180,000 metric tons per year of ordinary portland cement with single 122-m × 3.4-m rotary kiln; special cement for marine works and construction in sulfate-contaminated soils is also made in large quantities.
