Investigation of cement testing methods and correlation between cement strength and concrete strength
Development of strength testing of cement in Norway is described with reference to three methods including old DIN method with 7.07 cm cubes of stiff mortar, method for testing cement with wet mortar, and Rilem-Cembureau test; seven cements were tested in accordance with all three methods and from each cement three concrete mixes were prepared, with values of water to cement ratio respectively 0.50 to 0.52, 0.65 to 0.67 and 1. 09 to 1.12; statistical analysis of results showed good relationship between compressive strength of concrete and that of cement.
