Light weight construction and installation of more powerful and faster machinery have tended to increase number of cases where dangerous vibrations are found in buildings; vibrations of church steeples due to ringing of bells are also frequently encountered; simple measurements that can help to pinpoint cause of particular vibration and various simple mechanical modifications for eliminating trouble are described.
