Five-span Kinnaird Bridge, which is 1196 ft long between abutments, will link two sections of British Columbia's Trans-Provincial Highway in rugged mountain country 450 mi east of Vancouver; cantilever plus suspended-span bridge comprises precast, prestressed concrete girders for suspended spans and cast-in-place concrete for piers and box girders; each of four V-shaped piers supports cast-in-place box girder, 112 ft long; ends of girder cantilever 22 ft each side of top of pier frame; roadway is 28 ft wide, with two 5-ft sidewalks; bridge crosses river at 18° skew.
