Influence of bond on ultimate moment of prestressed concrete beams
Paper deals with computation and tests of ultimate moment of prestressed concrete with no bond between wires and concrete; experimental results obtained on prestressed concrete box-girders are in good accord with theory; it is concluded that static ultimate moment of prestressed concrete beams without bond is always lower than that of pretensioned or post-tensioned prestressed beams grouted subsequently, and that lack of bond and adhesion stresses reduces bearing capacity from 10 to 20% depending on steel percentage and loading.
