Salient features described; tunnel carried flow of river during construction and in finished project provides emergency release from reservoir; permanent control is attained by narrow and long fixed wheel gates; energy dissipator prevents damage to unlined tunnel below control gates; pressure tunnel consists of lined and unlined sections including pipe line 9 ft in diam, welded penstock, surge tank, rock catcher and intake.
