Spans moved 118 ft to new line in 30 min
As part of line relocation project west of Ottumwa, Iowa, Burlington shifted single span double track girder bridge laterally from old location to opening prepared for it in new line, about 118 ft away; this was accomplished by erecting two lines of timber pile falsework, each supporting runway of old rails, and using tractors to roll spans around curve on dollies to new opening.
