Structural transformations in EI787 iron nickel chromium titanium alloy
In study of deformed EI787 alloy (up to 0.08% C, 0.06% Si, 0.6 % Mn, 12-16% Cr, 33-37% Ni, 2-4% W, 2.4-3.2% Ti, 0.7-1.5% Al and up to 0.03% B), intermetallic γ and γ" phases were detected; hardening γ prime phase segregates from solid solution between 900 and 600 C; when alloy is heated to 900-950 C with sufficient holding time, acicular γ" phase forms; its composition approaches that of stable (Ni,Fe)3(Ti,Al) phase.
