Spillway for Proctor Dam, Leon River, Texas
Spillway includes low weir with sloping upstream face and ogee crest; crest was designed for head of 29 ft although heads up to 39 ft are expected; tests were conducted in 1:40-scale section model of spillway to verify adequacy of proposed crest shapes with upstream face of weir on slopes of 3 on 2 and 3 on 3; optimum pressure conditions and discharge coefficients were obtained with crest shape which was tangent to upstream face of dam.
