Some observations on performance of extended-aeration plants
Design and operating conditions of three prefabricated extended aeration plants were studied and results are summarized; one plant was constructed in concrete and other two, of 'packaged' type, prefabricated in steel; analytical data on sludge production and effluent quality; with plants studied no trouble was experienced with odors, and appreciable foaming occurred only when concentration of suspended solids in aeration tank was very low.
