Sump pits solve high water problem
Wells were necessary to lower high water table for building project in Salt Lake City; on four corners of excavation and in center, 12-ft diam sumps were dug 12 ft below bottom of excavation; each of these sumps was then filled with gravel and 5-hp pump was connected; with each pump operating 24 hr/day, water problem was solved; feature of project is 24-in. thick concrete slab 42 ft wide and 192 ft long, which covers fallout shelter.
