Noble gas ionization by fission fragments
Method is described for measurement of ion source rate in noble gas plasma generated by fission fragment ionization; design and construction of ionization tubes used are described, together with plasma theory which relates experimental current-voltage data to ion source rate; results are relevant to problem of thermionic direct conversion of heat to electricity.
