Free vibrations of conical shells
Linear shell theory was used to develop analysis for predicting frequency spectrum of isotropic simply supported conical shells; experimental investigation was performed in conjunction with this analysis; experimental frequencies were compared with developed theory; experimental data were also compared with equivalent cylindrical shell theory; this approximation gave good results for minimum frequencies and frequencies at low circumferential wave numbers; secondary experimental investigation was conducted for cantilevered conical shells.
