Joining precast prestressed concrete elements by post-tensioning discussed; joinery to form rigid frame connections; 3 methods for joining individual elements of multi-element post-tensioned member are considered including dry packed joints, poured joints, and flush joint (no additional concrete between precast elements); examples given showing that one of main advantages of post-tensioning connections is that mass production of small units becomes practical.
