Wind pressures on multi-storey buildings
Wind tunnel tests at Univ Auckland on model of tall building of rectangular plan show effects of variation in wind velocity with height; effect of radiusing corners is also discussed; model was of proposed 23 story block 207 ft high with uniform section 45 ft by 46 ft; floors are cantilevered out from central reinforced concrete stalk; permanent sunshade in form of continuous strip 3 ft wide sloping downwards at 30° and mitered at corners is fitted to each story.
