Moments in composite beam bridges by orthotropic plate theory
Effect of shearing force between beams and slab in composite beam bridge was taken into account by considering beams and slab acting together as orthotropic plate; it was found that beam moments computed according to current highway bridge design specifications are conservative; discussion of problems involving supporting conditions along edge beams and proper values to be assumed for flexural and torsional rigidities.
