Modernization of bottom-fired soaking pits
Studies of gas flow velocities in model of soaking pit with centrally placed bottom burner and in 2 redesigned variants showed that initial design had best thermal efficiency; gas velocities were determined from changes in readings of platinum resistance thermometer exposed to gas stream.
