Load-bearing capacity of orthotropic plates under compressive strain
Stresses and strains in ship deck considered as plate stiffened longitudinally and laterally at regular intervals, are analyzed; stiffeners are treated as additional thickness of plate which thus forms orthotropic elastic continuum; behavior of plate under buckling load, and its load-bearing capacity after buckling load is exceeded, are investigated.
