Heat transmission through roofs of buildings
Factors determining steady-state heat transfer through walls and roofs of buildings are reviewed; heat transfer through sheeted roofs is considered in detail; environmental factors including wind and solar radiation, and constructional factors including ventilation of airspaces, heat bridging by metal members, and edge heat losses, are dealt with; heat losses through factory type roofs measured in Building Research Station's Roof Laboratory are shown to agree reasonably well with values computed by methods proposed.
