New stadium in Miami, Fla, has cantilevered shell roof with only 8 interior columns in 34,000 sq ft area; 3 in. thick, hyper-bolic-paraboloid shell of cast-in-place, light weight concrete cantilevers 65 ft beyond inclined columns 43 ft high; behind this cantilever span is 40-ft span of folded-plate construction, supported by exterior row of concrete members normally in tension.
