Model studies on rubble-mound breakwater section in order to investigate hydraulic forces that act on individual capstones; magnitude and distribution with depth of forces were determined and correlated with wave characteristics and breakwater geometry; exploration of kinematic conditions in breaker zone; it was found that most dangerous forces from standpoint of breakwater failure occur under toe of advancing breaker or when water is flowing out of breakwater.
