Flow of water in unlined, lined, and partly lined rock tunnels
Flow analyzed and minimum, mean, and maximum values of equivalent hydraulic roughness (k) have been determined; analysis of experimental data on slimed tunnels and similar conduits suggests that ultimate roughness is function of surface drag; formula developed relating roughness to velocity and hydraulic mean depth; economic size of power tunnel discussed; diagram to facilitate calculation included.
