New cold store for British Transport Commission in Southampton Dock
International Cold Storage and Ice Co plant is of reinforced concrete construction for all floors and columns, with external walls of reinforced brickwork; there are no beams in ceiling of chamber, thus eliminating pockets in cold room circuits; rooms on one floor are cooled to 15 F by direct expansion; various rooms on second floor are held at 35 to 15 F; -- 10 and -- 20 F by forced air circulation.
