Composite construction of bridges using steel and concrete
History of composite construction, main design aspects and construction procedures; methods of analysis to compute dead and live load stresses, failure loads and to determine effects of shrinkage, creep and temperature; it is shown that difference between thermal expansion coefficients of concrete and steel may be important factor, especially in continuous structures exposed to elements.
