Use of interrelated records to simulate streamflow
Electronic computer procedure is described that extracts maximum amount of pertinent information from monthly stream flow data and generates values whose statistical characteristics are consistent with those of observed monthly stream flows; multiple linear regression of data transformed to unit normal standard deviates is used; procedure is described for using data that are not simultaneous at all recorder locations and that would permit formulating interrelated-stream flow generator for ungaged locations.
