Tests to failure in bending and torsion of reinforced concrete
Results of experimental and analytical investigation of ultimate strength capacity of 12 reinforced concrete right angle bents fixed at each end and subjected to single concentrated load; 16 reinforced concrete beams of same cross-sectional properties as bents were also tested in flexure, torsion, and combined flexure and torsion to obtain applicable interaction relation between bending and twisting strengths of section; analytically computed collapse loads obtained on basis of interaction relationship and experimental collapse loads of bents are compared.
