Wetting stacks of dry mix makes concrete walls
New method of building concrete apartment houses by stacking sacks of dry concrete mix one on top of other, installing reinforcing through bags, setting utilities in place, and wetting sacks; when concrete sets up, it is finished with gunite spray to complete 8-in. thick bearing wall; for exterior bearing walls, 6×24-in. burlap bags filled with dry 5-sack concrete mix were used; interior walls are of 4-in. diam sacks; bags are laid in overlapping courses and wet down with garden sprinkler; capillary action sucks in water, and wetting is judged by concrete slump; concrete ultimately reaches 3000 psi.
