Strength and microcracking of plain concrete under triaxial compression
Concrete cubes were axially loaded in uniaxial and triaxial compressive loads separately; slices made from strained specimen were examined for internal cracks using microscope; by comparison of internal microcracks in two loading conditions, attempt was made to explain increase in strength of concrete under triaxial compression.
