Constitution of cracked and uncracked asphalts
Chemical evidence supporting conclusion drawn from rheological properties shows that greater degree of dispersion, as compared with straight run asphalt, is due to greater aromaticity of maltenes; components in low level cracked asphalt have in all probability average molecular weights lower than that of corresponding components in straight run residue; chemical structure of asphaltenes. (see also Refiner v 16 n 8 Aug 1937 p 362-6)
